College essays are really important because this is where the Admissions board goes beyond the numbers.

The essay should reflect your personal style, your perspective on the world, your focus, your experiences and your priorities.

It should also showcase your writing skill and interests. Make sure you proofread your essay before you send it and have someone else who’s really good with grammar also proofread it. Better yet, get more than one opinion about it to ensure it reads well and reflects who you really are.

This is a brief and concise statement that will point the reader to what they should focus on.

Stay on point, be authentic about yourself, and stay crisp.
